Announcement

Carmelita Chao was founding president of AHSA World.

Life is full of twists and turns. But for Carmelita, somehow she always ended up up. This is how much AHSA World has benefited from her selfless leadership in the ten years (2010- 2019) with her at the helm.

During her leadership, AHSA World organized about 50+ events.

Of note are:

Haiti (for earthquake), “Children with Special Needs,” Clinton Foundation (for Africa), Jane Goodman (for Moon Bear), Uganda (for student sponsorships), Egypt (for fisheries), and hosted events to bring awareness to United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Education2030…

She led a group of 20 very talented performers to the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show (Feb 7, 2016).

And the two very successful AHSA World Gala Nights (2018, 2019).

In 2002, when I first met Carmelita, she was already a famous best-selling author of a Tientu series of nine novels. 2019 marked the 20th anniversary of the success of this series of books.

Segments of her Tientu novel series have been made into microfilms and as parts of movies. She was also the author of four mini-thrillers in The Ultimate Geodesics, and fictions “1001 Modern City Nights.”

Our hearts are shattered by the loss of Carmelita this July. Her life was filled with hope, promise and love. She cared deeply for friends, and she touched the lives of many more.

It is the intention that we continue what she had succeeded.

We are going to miss her greatly.

—— Dr. Hwa A. Lim
